>In 1995 one governing board was established to manage Minnesota’s community colleges, technical colleges and state universities. This began the system of Minnesota State Colleges and Universities. The system is comprised of 32 colleges and universities, including 25 two-year colleges and 7 state universities separate from the University of Minnesota. With more than 3,500 educational programs, Minnesota State Colleges and Universities offer excellent, affordable career options in 46 communities across the state. The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system is governed by a 15-member Board of Trustees appointed by the Governor. The Board has policy responsibility for system planning, academic programs, fiscal management, personnel, admissions requirements, tuition and fees, and rules and regulations. This board of leaders collaborate on a regular basis, but coming together from all corners of Minnesota can be expensive, time consuming and inefficient. Minnesota State Colleges and Universities asked MSpace to create a communication solution that omitted travel time and enhanced the shared interaction between board and faculty members - all while accounting for an upcoming major transition into new Minnesota State Colleges and Universities facilities.
